Storytellers

They’re doing the work. We help them tell the story.

From the Field to the Page

They’re on the front lines of change—building solutions, carrying hard-earned wisdom, and making a real difference.

But they rarely have the time, resources, or support to tell the deeper stories behind their work.

At sparrow·stories, we partner with nonprofit leaders to turn lived experience into powerful books—so their stories can reach more people, spark deeper understanding, and drive lasting impact.

These stories hold solutions, spark empathy, and carry truth. The world needs to hear them.

Meet Some of Our Storytellers

Every sparrow·stories project carries wisdom and experiences the world needs to hear. Here are just a few of the storytellers we’re honored to walk alongside.

  • Susan Munsey

Susan is a leader in the anti–sex trafficking movement and founder of GenerateHope, a national nonprofit helping survivors heal and rebuild their lives. Named a CNN Hero of the Year in 2018, she is writing her book with sparrow·stories to share her expertise more broadly, influence anti-trafficking policy, and deepen understanding and compassion for survivors. Learn more about her work here.

  • Jonathan Johnson

Jon serves as a full-time missionary to the unreached Deaf community in El Progreso, Jutiapa, Guatemala. Through sparrow·stories’ shortform storytelling, he is clarifying his message and impact, helping donors engage more deeply, and laying the groundwork for a future book that will share the story of bringing language, spiritual growth, and self-sustainability to Deaf communities long unseen and unheard. You can follow Jon and his family’s work here.

  • Nonprofit Founders

Nonprofit founders have built something that matters—organizations rooted in service, fueled by purpose, and shaped by experience.

They carry hard-earned lessons. They’ve witnessed transformation. They’ve walked alongside their communities in ways few others have.

Their stories have the power to share wisdom, amplify the voices of those they serve, and offer a powerful look at what it really takes to lead with heart.

With the right support, their journeys can become lasting resources for others—and tools for deeper understanding, connection, and change.

  • Changemakers

They’ve spent years listening, documenting, and advocating.
They’ve seen systems from the inside—and the impact those systems have on real people.

Their stories bear witness to both injustice and resilience. They shine a light where few are willing to look. They have the power to shift perspectives, spark conversations, and make truth visible.

With the right support, those stories can reach far beyond the work itself—informing, equipping, and awakening others to what’s really at stake.

  • Individual Storytellers

Some carry stories the world can barely imagine—stories of survival, strength, and hard-won insight that expose injustice, illuminate resilience, and offer truth that can’t be ignored.

Whether sharing their own journey or lifting up a chorus of voices in their community, these storytellers hold the power to open eyes, grow compassion, and inspire change.

With the right tools and support, those stories can become catalysts for understanding, advocacy, and healing.
